Senior Congress leader and actor Raj Babbar along with party candidate Ravneet Singh Bittu, during a road show at two assembly constituencies Atam Nagar and South in Ludhiana on Thursday.
Amritsar, April 10: In a fresh attack against former Chief Minister and Congress candidate for Amritsar Lok Sabha seat Amarinder Singh, Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today said that Captain is the biggest enemy of Punjab’s interests. He said Captain is just a `Yes Man’ of Congress National President Sonia Gandhi and dance to her tunes and remained silent during last 10 years of UPA rule when Punjab was discriminated against. Captain never spoke when the industrial packages were being given to neighbouring states which led to the flight of industries from Punjab, and when farmers’ loans were written off, Punjab farmers were left away and there came no large development projects. Majithia who was speaking at Utto-Rhitti village in his home constituency of Majitha, said not even once captain has uttered a word against the Congress-led UPA’s misrule, corruption and misgovernance. More than 50 families in the village Mahadipur , who earlier had been the Congress supporters today joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (B) and Majithia welcomed them saying Congress is working against the interests of the poor and backwards. He said the party only safeguards the interests of the rich while common man’s life has turned miserable during the last 10 years. He also attacked Captain for not disclosing the properties and assets in his foreign bank accounts which he said was nothing but cheating with the people of the area from whom he was seeking votes. Calling Captain a reluctant candidate who never wanted to contest the election but was forced to do so, Majithia said Captain and his team is so perturbed and disillusioned that they do not understand what they were speaking and what they were writing in the press releases being issued. ``Captain has lost the mental balance which is self evident from the statements he is making which is full of follies and mischievous’’, said Majithia. He said its seems Captain is not contesting the elections against senior BJP leader and SAD-BJP candidate Arun Jaitley but Majithia. He said Captain is saying that people should vote for him just because he wanted that Majithia would be downed in this way. ``I have confirmed information from sources close to Captain that he wake up in the mid of the night calling the name of Majithia. He is hit by the `Majithia’s phobia’, said he. He said Captain’s defeat was written on the wall and Jaitley would win the seat with heavy margin. He said Captain is so afraid that he can bet that Captain will not come to Amritsar even to hear the results of the Lok Sabha elections on May 16. He said Captain belongs to the party which attacked Golden Temple, the mecca of the Sikhs and engineered 1984 riots in which hundreds of innocent Sikhs were butchered.
